“If the administration is serious in eradicating corruption in the bureaucracy, then it must appoint people with unblemished reputation and not those involved in scandals.”
Tama ang sinabi ng ilang senador na nakakapanghinala kung bakit patuloy parin ang support ni Duterte kay Faeldon maski siya ngayon ay naka detained sa Senado after being cited for contempt for not his failure to appear in the Senate investigation into the P6.4 billion-peso shabu smuggling that allegedly involved Pres. Duterte’s son, the resigned Davao mayor Paolo Duterte.
“While he can assume his new post at the OCD, he may have to function from the Senate detention facility via remote control, unless his contempt citation is lifted by the Senate acting as a collegial body,” said Sen. Panfilo Lacson.
“But personally I would rather that appointees or those who intend to run for public office does not have any derogatory record or blemish in their track record because they are entering public service. Public service is a public trust,”
Ayon naman kay Sen. JV Ejercito.
Diin naman ni Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, the president should have reconsidered his decision knowing that hindi naging epektibo si Faeldon sa Customs dahil sa nakalusot na shabu sa bansa from China.
